Who we are

The idea of Commutour was born when I (Poppy, our founder) was dotting between different Piano teaching jobs all over London to earn extra money to top up my teaching salary. I’ve always loved history and wondered about who lived and worked in all the buildings I passed on my way through the city but I’d never have paid over £30 to get on a tour bus to find out (and when I eventually did I was disappointed to not walk away learning very much!).

So, Commutour was born! I decided that an App that turned the local commuter busses into tours would enable locals, like me, to find out more about their area whilst giving tourists the chance to learn more about the city with the flexibility of the London bus system. It also has the added bonus of being a whole lot cheaper than the tour busses, and, much more sustainable!

We really hope you love Commutour, it is a passion project paid made for history lovers, savvy tourists and London locals alike and it’s something we are very proud of.
